Swept Memories

Flashbacks can beam shadows,
born from yesterday,
a darkness so hollow,
it never decays.
Time flies ever shallow,
daydreams run astray,
bright silver sharp arrows,
forms mixed shades of grey.

Magnificent outline,
steps lessons create,
vast infinite design,
opens heavy gates.
Star flecked cosmos align,
to make hearts feel great,
purity so divine,
it carries no weight.

Grand substance so certain,
consistently flows,
opens velvet curtains,
then starts a new show.
Removes unseen burdens,
warm spirits then glows,
creates peaceful versions,
raises all plateaus.

  1. I love your take on the prompt. Your use of color (silver, grey ) and fabric (velvet, curtains) to express emotions from darkness to bliss’ “plateau” is fantastic! Well done, Grace. Kudos!!

  2. Such a graceful and inspiring poem, Grace! Love the rhythmic flow of thoughts and verses ❤️🌺
