Value (Published at The Writer’s Club)

You cover my mouth
I lower my eyes,
You fit with the crowd,
I hopelessly sigh.

I swallow so hard,
and walk very light.
You mingle off guard,
with nothing to hide.

You strut ever free,
a full better half.
My best friend is me,
I am all I have.

To know me better,
is my concrete plan.
Instant forgetter,
erased as you ran.

I take a deep breath
then slowly exhale,
A mouthful of depth,
takes life for a sail.

My head held up tall,
smile placed on my face,
I conquer it all,
with feet still in place.

The last deed to do,
clear traces of you.
Create better views,
so my dreams come true.

Undervalued pawn,
a role I once played.
Bright as early dawn,
great values displayed.

Today’s Song

A song transports,
into the past.
Stay current to savor at last.
Old day dreams come,
and go so fast.
Both mind and heart dance in contrast.
Inhale today,
right now is here.
all past regrets have disappeared.
Cut yesterday,
release held fears.
This precious moment feels so clear.
Create a vow,
enjoy this time.
Let bright new laughter ring and chime.
Do not let life,
quickly pass by,
enjoy each second till eyes shine.
Loud music stops,
lyrics are mute.
The brain and soul ease their commute.
A friendship starts
without dispute.
Tomorrow soon comes to salute.

Set Free (Crimson Creative Challenge #212)

A mountain of lies,
built one at a time,
increasing in size,
right before my eyes.

A city of trust,
all covered with dust,
provokes deep disgust,
hopes begin to rust.

An ocean of pain,
swoops into my brain,
foresees greater gain,
breaks off buried chains.

A field of bright dreams,
light form orbs that gleam,
tears flow with the stream,
soul feels clear and beams.

A garden of hope,
blossoms, pick to cope,
old slippery slopes,
sealed in envelopes.

An island of thoughts,
displays inner force,
as life runs its course,
discover the source.

Circles

Simulation, tale or dream,
nonsensical secret scheme.
What is real? How would we know?
Will this knowledge help us grow?

If eyes could see beyond air,
Will we dare to be aware?
Some realities are rough,
but can heal with a soft touch.

Life appears to feel so tough,
yet transforms to smoky puffs.
Will true wisdom be exposed?
Can eyes open, if sealed closed?

Meditate, inhale deep peace,
with intentions underneath.
Will the heart regain control?
Can we break the mold that holds?

Can we swim within the breeze?
Will freedom bring unity?
Second chances mend stripped keys,
liberates humanity.

One encounter at a time,
free caged thoughts to ease the mind.
Simple gestures souls may find,
can transform dark thoughts to kind.

Alliance

A new life always starts,
with the release of tears.
Strong drum beats in the heart,
made to conquer all fears.

Profound need in each core,
to grow knowledge and learn.
Inwardly keep the score,
sit to watch the years turn.

Search outward for clear truth,
giant force can not hide.
Senses recognize proof,
buried deeply inside.

Keep searching for answers,
most will never pursue.
Stone sculpted enhancers,
may throw hard concrete clues.

Instincts aim for self-care,
to then burn from pure guilt.
Sacred hues in the air,
fuel all messages built.

Forces choose to comply,
work as one, never two.
Open the unseen eye,
manifest every view.

Perspective

Thoughts have hidden sounds,
picked up by silent senses,
to form many views.
