Mental Trip

Hop on a train,
to cross the bridge,
release all pain
embrace courage.

Wave at the past,
grasp all unknowns,
only times lived,
have answers shown.

Present today,
hug current state,
enjoy moment,
cling to blind fate.

Written future,
currently seen,
Modern ruler,
complex machine.

Goodbye worn days,
steam engine chimes,
dreams offer gains,
shreds prior crimes.

A pen in hand,
paper still blank,
chains left behind,
bring more to thank.

Tomorrow comes,
not set in stone,
each rising sun,
bring wishes blown.

Scars fall behind,
burns every track,
peaceful views find
light heals deep cracks.

  1. Outstanding! Love all the verses and their bridge from past to present to future. But the final verse really resonates:

    ***Scars fall behind,
    burns every track,
    peaceful views find
    light heals deep crack***
    – Absolutely masterfully crafted lines!

  2. “Tomorrow comes, not set in stone”….so very, very true Grace! Love the beauty of the journey you showed in this piece. 💞💞💞

  3. In the train of life there are no long stops, so every moment should be lived to the fullest, leaving scars behind and making dreams come true.
Charming letters you deliver us, friend Grace.
    Hugs.
