Touch of Light

She wears a smile as a costume,
while turning hopes into pure gloom.
A shadow that steals joys from rooms,
guiding hearts towards endless doom.

Stories she hears construct her lies,
connecting to believe her sighs.
False tears cascade from her sad eyes,
theatrics through effortless cries.

She pities what she had to face,
lets bitterness rest in griefs place.
Her non stop mind likes to retrace,
sad memories filled with disgrace.

Manipulates to gain control,
loves to play games of sticks and stones.
Emotions become hard as bones,
deep inside holds inner cyclones.

She feels the sun burn at her head,
awakens parts she once thought dead.
Instantly clears up all her dread,
replaced by faithful light instead.

Acceptance fills her deep within,
absolving guilts and downward spins.
Grants everyday hopes to begin,
so that with time self love could win.
