Presently

I am not from here, nor from there,
the future always eats my past.
Presently, I sit on my chair,
contemplating life’s grand contrast.

I am not from here, nor from there,
the future always eats my past.
Presently inhaling fresh air,
grateful each breath is not my last.

I am not from here, nor from there,
the future always eats my past.
Presently trying to repair,
so expectations can surpass.

I am not from here, nor from there,
the future always eats my past.
Presently knowing life is fair,
each day flies by swiftly and fast.

I am not from here, nor from there,
the future always eats my past.
Presently growing, well aware,
that possibilities are vast.

I am not from here, nor from there,
the future always eats my past.
Presently feel a joy so rare,
removing shadows as they cast.

    1. That’s sweet, Joanna. I feel that everyone from everywhere should be grateful for every breath down to their last, especially after the last couple of years. Thanks for sharing.💕❤️💕

  1. Those first two lines of each stanza are deep and the imagery is striking. The present really is all we have. Nicely done as always, Grace! 🙂

  2. The poem has been beautifully weaved around the two magical lines with a great message. Loved it, Grace 😊💐💖
