Phoenix

Worn and abused,
but still refuse,
to be subdued,
by an excuse.

Heart feels hollow,
never wallow
in past sorrows,
hold tomorrow.

Do not belong,
old wounds prolong,
just skip along,
to heal all wrong.

Ever mellow,
embrace yellow,
peaceful echoes,
inner cellos.

Hopes come alive,
dreams take a drive,
ambitions fly,
way past the sky.

Always ready,
feel so steady,
scars are buried,
life looks merry.

  1. The title and poem synchronise but the picture was expecting a phoenix ☺️…I ❤️ elephants, but the name of the poem and the picture caught me off- guard, so had to read to know more 😇😊
