Goodbye Past

Inhale fears,
exhale regrets.
Every tear,
drowns silhouettes.
Rusted gears,
thoughts pirouette.
Helpless cheers,
old worn cassettes.
Through the years,
no one forgets,
words we hear,
caught up in nets.
Sting my ears,
wipe away sweat.
Swiftly steer,
wishes progress.

Dreams progress,
with every steer.
Never sweat,
unclog both ears.
Release nets,
free words we hear,
then forget
hurts through the years.
Play cassettes,
sing, dance, and cheer.
Pirouettes
polishes gears.
Silhouettes
absorb old tears.
Heal regrets,
remove all fears.

  1. Oh, this elevated me. Every word and sentence moves seamlessly into the next, imparting peace and relief. Such a wonderful piece, Grace. Keep writing this beautifully. βœ…β€πŸŒŸ

  2. A beautiful mantra in poetry you crafted brilliantly Grace. So funny I just started a poem with Pirouette in it today, Happy Sunday and soon to be Monday dear friend. πŸ’–

  3. Wise words, although I immediately pictured 8-track tapes (which really goes to show my age)! πŸ˜€ Always hopeful, Grace, and I appreciate it. πŸ™‚
