Today I smile, my mind feels clear,
a birthday filled with love and cheer,
but just one year ago, the rain,
from hurricane Helene brought pain.
The winds were loud, the night was long,
we stood so still, so firm, so strong,
and now I see how far we’ve come,
with light blue skies and warmer sun.
Through every storm, we’ve walked as two,
a love so deep, so firm, so true.
Tomorrow marks twelve loving years,
of joy, of trials, of laughs and tears.
The future draws in ever near,
my heart is full of peaceful cheer.
Infinite promise of “I do”,
another blessing to walk through.
So here I stand, both sure and free,
grateful for all life’s given me.
From rough to calm, from night to day,
I thank the stars that lit my way.
As the four seasons rise and fall,
pure love will always conquer all.
