How could you look him in the eyes,
while feeding his heart loads of lies?
How could you rip his heart to shreds,
and let his dreams constantly tread?
Did coldness freeze your human heart?
Did empathy simply depart?
Did you wake up just feeling numb?
Did ego refuse to succumb?
How could you sleep peaceful at night,
and let him cuddle you so tight?
How do you feel no sense of guilt,
even while hurting bonds you built?
Do you feel good living this way?
Do you enjoy the games you play?
Do you smile at the lies you say?
Do you wish apathy could sway?
It must be a tough, lonely road,
to carry a sad, empty load.
It must be hard to look inside
to know darkness is all you find.
Try a good talk, maybe a cry,
try to let trauma slip and die.
Try holding joy and being true,
try letting love and light touch you.

Great poem Grace and now I’m hooked.. i want to know who, why how and with who? 🤣💖 Yes, how could they?
💖
This piece was actually inspired by a lifetime movie🤣🤣🤣 Yes I confess to being a lifetime movie addict, especially on snow days..💕 This specific one was the true story of a teacher with a very nice husband, she manipulates and seduces a student to get him to kill her husband. How could she???? This thought is so disturbing, I had to let it out. Thanks so much, my friend.💕
oh wow! Thanks for the details of this one Grace. That is disturbing. I’m not sure I could have seen it through. Glad you shared about it in your poem! What that the name of the show? How could she?
WELCOME! 💖
Murder in New Hampshire: The Pamela Smart story. It’s an old one but they play it from time to time.💕

This is so raw and gritty, and constructed so well. Very intense. As for being a Lifetime movie addict, my mom was, too, so you’re in good company! 😀 I’ve actually seen the one on which you based this poem. (Yeah, I admit I’ve watched one or two Lifetimes movies…but don’t tell anyone!). 🙂
Thank you so much, Mike. Those movies can be quite addictive. Your secret is safe with me.💕🙏🤣💕
