Apathy

Who said different is wrong?
What made ignorance so strong?
Where do dreams go with hopes gone?
Why are emotions withdrawn?

Will eyes see beyond worn skin?
Why are unknowns seen as sins?
How will life be for our kin?
Can we unite hearts and win?

Why do people fear what’s new?
What obstructs our inner views?
Who planted dark seeds that grew?
Could sincerity be true?

When did walks transform to climbs?
Why are pure tears seen as grime?
How can true love be a crime?
Was peace lost through space and time?

Who spread friction, goes unknown,
good days will slowly be shown.
Change begins within our throne,
feel empowered lead and own.

Warm morals blissfully spread,
clear warped thoughts with love instead.
Change takes place, sights look ahead,
do not eat what others fed.

  1. “Why do people fear what’s new?” This is so relatable, new things bring change, something we’re not too happy about. Beautifully written πŸ’–

  2. “Why do people fear what’s new?
I guess myself Is afraid of not perfecting new things or the fear of starting and abandoning it halfway…

    Real-life questions πŸ’―πŸ’―

  3. I have known the power of religious prejudice. The intolerance is based on fear, the fear on a need for certainty, something to grasp and behind which to hide. So many want the certainty of what they know, feel threatened by anything that is contrary to that. It is hardwired into many of us and takes time and effort to overcome. Time and effort that, all too often, is not taken.

  4. Your first line sums up everything the rest illustrates….”Who said different is wrong?”
And who decides what is different anyway? One cultures norm is another cultures different…what makes one better than the other? Let everyone of us be the change you speak of. Beautifully said, Grace! πŸ’žπŸ’žπŸ’ž

  5. So many questions, all genuine, but the answer is understanding. So well depicted, Grace! Love it β€οΈπŸ’
