I find it hard to open up,
observe a lot but hold my tongue.
I dare myself to take the jump,
uncage the voice that in me clung.
Break mold apart to expose me,
release my soul from this body.
Perceptions choose what they will see,
be who I am, proud, and ready.
It took so long to feel secure,
to know my will could obtain more.
Searched deep inside to be assured,
that inner keys can unlock doors.
I tip toe to keep privacy,
protect it to a large degree,
today my voice will be set free,
tomorrow is not guaranteed.
Excited to greet everyday,
put my deep views up on display,
without fears of what I may say,
standing by thoughts my words convey.
