Picnic Time

Barbie’s blanket, calm and still,
flips magazine, day dreams fill.
Lost in a world, wonders seen,
peaceful vibes feels so serene.

Ken stands nearby, smiles so bright,
McDonald’s bag , brings delight.
Warm scented fries fill the air,
plastic thoughts drift without care.

Pizza box, opened half wide,
cheesy goodness, yummy ride.
Lush lawn stretches, vibrantly green,
highlight this beautiful scene.

Symphonies whisper through leaves,
dancing trees sway with the breeze.
Bask in sun with skies so blue,
picnic in a world so true.

  1. Your poem is a tribute to small pleasures, an exercise in aware (the Japanese art of finding beauty in the transitory). It could be linked to pop poetry or kitsch aesthetics, but it transcends the superficial by giving emotional depth to seemingly banal objects.

    Best regards, poetess.
