One More Try

Just needs a break, for her past crimes,
heartfelt mistakes, have served their time.
Dark inner fears, prevent new tries,
no one could hear, loud hidden cries.

Open doors slam, before her face,
obstruct all plans, slow down swift pace.
Head in her hands, torn and disgraced,
tries to withstand, all hopes defaced.

Arms in the air, prays to forget,
life is not fair, swallows regret.
Searches for signs, to pay off debts,
fate soon aligns, to release threats.

Gathers free will, strength to believe,
climbs steeper hills, to heal held grief.
Bright lights fulfill, heartbeat perceives,
forgives past spills, instant relief.

  1. A beautiful take Grace. Climbing up from a low is difficult, takes lot of effort and will. But well worth the effort. Thanks for joining in.

  2. Beautiful poem expressing the journey of overcoming past mistakes and finding inner strength. It’s a reminder that even in difficult times, there’s hope for a brighter future. Awesome as always dear Grace ❤

  3. Sometimes it is easier to learn from past mistakes and correct them personally; However, there are mistakes that society buries for life and these people often return to the same thing. It’s all a dilemma.
A pleasure to read you, friend Grace.

  4. Beautiful take on the prompt, Grace. I love your last line “forgives past spills, instant relief”, which is how we grow and improve ourselves.💖
