Morning Drink

My nostrils awaken
to the scent of coffee.
Pumpkin foam, unshaken,
pour syrupy toffee.

Arabica so sweet,
the sun fully risen,
early morning treat,
as daily plans glisten.

My eyes fully open,
caffeine sails through my veins,
all restlessness broken
without hardships or strain.

Swift “up to no good” fun,
cool breeze swooshes with zest.
Wild mischievous thoughts run,
fly high like passing guest.

My taste buds still tingle,
with sips I still savor,
as senses all mingle,
to lingered held flavors.

Ready for a great day,
prepared a perfect start.
Know all will be okay,
my warm drink played its part.

  2. A nice take, Grace! So tasty and heart warming verses! I too prefer smell of hot coffee. Loved the poem πŸ˜ŠπŸ’–
