Inside Out

Thick stormy clouds control my mind,
the world I see feels so unkind.
Vile ugly acts spread great sorrows,
cracked concrete paths build tomorrow.

Tornadoes swirls ring in my ears,
sweep up my mind, release deep tears,
my heart and pulse quickly increase,
try to obtain some inner- peace.

Rain showers pour upon my head,
wonder if all kindness is dead.
Salted wounds hurt and make me scream,
wish all unjust was just a dream.

Bright rainbow views amaze my eyes,
feel profound hope swiftly arise,
faithful wishes are now defined,
know social change will soon align.

Warm sun ray lights, dry off my tears,
caresses heart, provides great cheer.
Blue skies become brighter and clear,
people can grow, progress each year.

My inner thoughts project outside,
I grasp the universe inside.
Pure love can turn wrongs into rights
if everyone tries to unite.

  1. Such a beautiful and positive poem Grace. The power of love and positivity can indeed change the world if we so desire. Thanks for joining in.

  2. It started out gloomy but then got cheerful. I like that; very thoughtful and filled with deep meaning. I like to write poems too. First I pen them, then I post them. It’s better that way. Do you find?

  3. Dear Grace, I love the love and positivity in the verses of this beautiful poem, especially when you say-

wish all unjust was just a dream.
Bright rainbow views amaze my eyes…❤️💐🌈

  4. I love how you first showed the storm, then the rainbow emerged from it. Beautifully done, Grace! 💞💞💞
