Out for a bite,
huge appetite,
plates are all out,
mind fills with doubts.
To eat this now,
breaks silent vow.
try to loose weight,
or take the bait.
Friends out to brunch,
decide to munch,
they all fit in,
all are quite thin.
They eat and laugh,
split mine in half,
then say “I’m full”,
hunger still pulls.
Drink some water,
hunger alters,
stay on health track,
do not feel lack.
Time soon passes,
sweeps and splashes,
was not easy,
goals land freely.
Lunch out with friends,
compliments blend,
still unfulfilled,
but health rebuilds.
Feel accepted,
yet rejected,
what they now see,
was always me.

You’re just the greatest.
So sweet of you, Charlie. Thank you.💕
Poignant last three lines. Deep!
Thanks a bunch, Suzette.💕
My pleasure Grace😍
💕🙏💕
This is so tell telling of our society. I love the poem Grace and agree with Suzette, those last 3 lines tell it all!! 💞
Thanks so much. It sure does, unfortunately.💕🙏💕
You’re so welcome and you are so right Grace!! 💞
💕🙏💕
Very astute and well-crafted post
Thanks so much.💕
heartbreaking because if i love the food, trust that i’d eat it all especially if i’m hungry and i paid for it. 🙂 this was very relatable, dear friend. another wonderful piece that depicts our society.
Good for you. So happy to hear that, my friend. Thank you so very much.💕🙏💕
always a pleasure, Grace.
💕🙏💕
The ending of your poem was the bare truth. We socialize with all sorts of friends, but the best are those with whom we can be ourselves. Thanks for joining in.
Thanks so very much, dear Sadje.💕
You’re welcome
💕🙏💕
Accurate writing. The best and true friends are those with whom we can be ourselves.
I love reading you, friend Grace.
I send you a warm and sincere hug.
Thank you so much, accepting your hug and sending one back, my friend. 💕
Oh, i can understand the feeling… for sure, it’s often hard to relish good moments with friends while on a tight diet, especially when it’s some dinner and they don’t understand your latest decisions with eating. What a noble and touching piece, Grace 💕💖
So glad you liked it, dear Lamittan. Thank you so much.💕
You’ve portrayed those conflicting emotions so well. Beautifully written, Grace
Thank you so very much, Shweta.💕
“Feel accepted yet rejected”. A sad truth, the world is full of pretense.
Unfortunately true.💕
Terrific, Grace!

Thanks so much 💕
Wonderful poem, Grace. I can totally identify with this. Although I’m trying to lose weight, if I’m out with friends, I tend to eat everything rather than leave half. Perhaps, a throwback from being brought up to finish everything on my plate. This is also very telling of today’s society. I especially love your last stanza. Be well, Grace Xx 💓
Your response is so relatable , Ellie. Thank you so much for sharing.💕🙏💕
This beautifully done piece really resonates, Grace! 💞💞💞
Thanks so much, dear Dawn.💕
This is the dilemma, to eat or not to eat. Beautifully depicted, Grace! Well done 👍💐💖
Thanks so much, KK.💕
My pleasure 💖
Note to all my friends… You will not be my friend if you don’t eat. LOL
Im with you,💕🤣💕though these days people put so much pressure on each other over eating habits and choices, it’s crazy. “Live and let live “ is my motto. Make the best choices for yourself and move on. Each body is different.💕
Absloutely! I will not be around someone that insists on checking out my portions. LOL
Food, laughter and and good times all go hand in hand.
I workout so I can EAT! LOL seriously!
Good on you, Belladonna. That’s a great way of life. Deprivation leads to overindulgence in my opinion.💕
Absolutely Grace!
💕🙏💕
Very nice, loved it.
Thank you so much 💕
