Endless Shadow

So hard to swallow,
uncertainty’s pill,
hearts can be hollow,
words stumble, thoughts spill.

Bright outlooks, numb pain,
deep rooted in chest,
smiles break buried chains,
daydreams help fears rest.

Shadows reflect souls,
mirrored to the core.
outbound from the whole,
to swiftly deplore.

Gigantic dim pride,
a well-disguised ploy,
difficult to hide,
never shy or coy.

True ingrained best friend,
endlessly there,
entwined to the end,
created to share.

Summon inner strength,
demand it to stay,
expand width and length,
with each passing day.

  1. I love “Gigantic dim pride”. It is a fascinating combination of words. I guess that you intentionally made each line five syllables. I always notice and appreciate things like that. It works well here. It has a nice flow.☺️
