Clean Slate

Today is a new start,
hold the wheel and steer,
pieces play their parts,
fate dances so near.

Today is a new start,
grab it by the horn,
yesterday departs,
bright futures are born.

Today is a new start,
hopes rise with the sun,
past lessons feel smart,
learn to have some fun.

Today is a new start,
decide to wear smiles,
touch unhappy hearts,
joy can spread for miles.

Today is a new start,
“what will be” flows near,
to mark a restart,
future leader is here.

Today is a new start,
same goes for tonight,
life is a blank chart,
designed for delight.

  1. A beautiful take on the prompt Grace. Yes, to new starts and the reminders that the young bring to mind about the value of fresh starts. Great piece of writing. Love the repeated line…it adds a beautiful lyrical quality to the poem (I think.)

  2. Wow, what a beautiful poem filled with your wisdom…I really needed it…I’m smiling big with flowing emotions…thank you very much for writing this piece ✨💟✨💟

      1. It’s truly my pleasure…infact, I liked it so much that I’ve sent link of your poem to my mail…such that I can read it whenever I feel like…I’m healing slow n steady…thank you very much for your concern ✨💟💫

  3. Love the ‘new start’ woven throughout your beautiful poem, Grace! Life certainly is a blank chart, it’s up to us to color it in! 💞💞💞
