Certain

Is dignity a sour trait?
If hurried but forced to sedate.
Does self assurance provoke hate?
Only to those that can’t relate.

Will poise make others hesitate?
If their own ego feels afraid.
Can pride ever be seen as great?
When morals are all clear and straight.

Does intrigue form forceful debates?
If anxious thoughts are felt innate.
Will courage heal, stick, and inflate?
It lives in hearts that carry faith.

Can confidence help minds create?
If visions come from a high state.
Is certainty an act of fate?
A knowing soul defeats the wait.

  1. Brilliant Grace! 👏😁 I love these 4 lines in particular:
    “Does self assurance provoke hate?
Only to those that can’t relate.

    Will poise make others hesitate?
If their own ego feels afraid.”

How self confidence/assurance in 1 person can be intimidating to others who don’t understand what it’s like to have it.

  2. I like this question and answer thing you did here, I’ve always liked the idea of it. You did it so exceptionally well, Grace. This is powerful and thought provoking. Loved it ❤❤

  3. I loved the question answer session on the facts of life in the form of a rhythmic poem. Nicely presented, Grace 👌💐💖

  4. As others have said, the call-and-response nature of this poem is so dynamic and adds such energy and immediacy to it. The answers given to each question are so well-grounded and true. This is a thoughtful poem and such a delight to read. 🙂
