Vent with a Pen

Do not repeat words heard and said,
or you will see how gossip spreads.
The twist and turns in every head,
can rewrite tales their eyes misread.

Sometimes you may need ways to vent,
but at times some misrepresent
the words you say, or your intent,
adding their warped views as content.

Instead search for a safe outlet,
to release pain, hurts, and regrets,
this way others can not be threats,
or hold on after you forget.

It feels so good to simply write,
let go of torments, without fights,
no one is wrong, no one is right,
read what you wrote to gain insight.

  1. Its like you read my mind. Was just venting. I am disheartened i still cant turn my mess into a materpiece like you. All my poems are gathering dust and cobwebs. While i am learning from a great poet. You dont realise each poem counts a teardrop. I once wrote: Your famous, i eat from the ground the crumbs. This means your work is excellent and mine is just average.

In my humble opinion its better to build up others and humble myself.

Great work again. Me and my silly metaphors.

    1. So glad you liked it. Thank you. We as people can be our own worse critics. I read so many poems by so many wonderful poets and I can really say that we are all unique, the best things in life go without comparison. Keep writing and enjoying your gifts.Best wishes💕

      1. My pleasure, today i got my first likes on my post. I am so confused. I will see how it works and let you know if you can see my work.

        Keep writing

  2. I’ve tried “purge writing” recently and will likely continue with it. It’s just venting on paper or screen that no one will ever see because it’s meant only for my eyes as a way of unclogging a bunch of pent-up emotions. Hopefully it will bear fruit in the sense that it will allow me to write again. I miss my strange poetry and hope to find the spark again soon. Your poems are so encouraging. I’m not sure if you\’re aware of how important your work is to so many of us, but it’s true. You’re that lighthouse with its glowing beacon, showing us the way through our own personal fogs. Thanks, Grace. 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, dear Mike. This truly means so much to me. This sounds like a great way to get back to writing. I have heard of many people who do there best work after going through a bit of writers block. Thanks again, my friend. I truly appreciate you.💕🙏💕

  3. Beautiful advices, Grace! Well penned! When I read my own writings again, I tend to rewrite the same.😊💐💖

  4. Such wisdom in your words Grace. Here and there people, behind their screen feel free to write things that hurt and make a mess.
We all have the ability to hold a pen and write for ourselves, letting go, spitting out what feels wrong. We will always find some kind of peace in writting. 💕💕

  5. i wonder how can someone became so much consistent about his work….. loved your posts😊😊😊 thanks to entertain us
