Tricky Treat

Hours passed slow, visions flew fast,
giggled upon our youthful past.
Remembered a specific time,
hear happy thoughts echo and chime.

Halloween sheets, painted lyrics,
pretended to defy physics.
Tried hard to form a spooky day,
instead decided we should play.

Shadowed visions brought on a scare,
to those that walked by unaware.
Homemade costumes lead us to coast,
as we appeared to swiftly float.

Wide eyes believed they witnessed ghosts,
we held in laughs of prideful boasts.
Arrogance climbed higher plateaus,
congratulating our egos.

Till mysteries unraveled quick,
everyone noticed air flow tricks.
Submerged into a different space,
cherry red cheeks greeted our face.

We snapped back to reality,
aware of our mortality.
Felt free from all mystical spells,
instant relief, disguises fell.
