Trick or Treat

One day per year
on Halloween,
release all fears,
witches fly free.

On other days,
three sixty four,
dust with each sway,
to sweep the floor.

Strong vehicle,
so mystical.
Flies magical,
nonlogical.

A visual trick,
or spooky treat,
a bewitched stick,
roams through the streets.

Broom closet wall,
lean for a while,
stand high and tall,
inwardly smile.

Look forward to
this time next year,
grass and bamboo
silently cheer.
