Pleased

Who cares about “wants” anyway?
Fulfill all “needs” to be okay?
Assured to last another day,
colorful “wants” keep all “needs” gray.

Should we be “grateful” and not “wish”?
Anchored in stagnancy if switched?
To be content with being nourished,
without a need to gain or flourish.

Will my thirst be quenched in this cycle?
Erasing “goals” while walking “idle”?
Both “wants” and “need” hold a recital,
secretly fighting for the tittle.

Can we transform “wants” into “needs”?
Will “wishes” sprout like planted seeds?
Success proceeds and takes the lead,
while “gratitude” helps hopes exceed.

  3. ‘Needs’ comes first always, and being grateful does miracles that we can’t even imagine😇. I can say that because I’ve experienced that personally.

Though ‘wants’ need to be fulfilled as well. After all, we are humans. What’s the point of being the most developed species if we can’t even do that.

Loved the poem. It’s beautifully written and on a very interesting topic. 🩷

  4. There is a thin line between want and need but I think both are important and seasonal. The difference however is that need can’t be put aside while want can be.

  5. Tough choices…ambition or contentment. Stagnancy vs growth.. amongst other salient points. Does the balance alter as we mature? Great as always Grace. 👏💙

    1. So true. Very tough. I do feel that with maturity comes acceptance which could affect the balance. Thank you so much for your thought provoking response.💕

Well said, Grace! I love it ❤️💐

  7. Remember that success is a journey, not a destination. Celebrate your progress and enjoy the process along the way.
