Play Pretend

You always give,
never receive,
teach all to live,
and to believe.
Heal lost souls through,
troublesome times,
share your wise views,
to help them climb.
Pave the best way,
then promptly guide,
each night and day,
your heart provides.

The time has come,
to pluck what grew,
effects on some,
come back so true.
Hands cover eyes
heart beats inside,
a fake surprise,
granddaughter hides.
Always aware,
when love is there.
The ones that care,
brighten the air.

  1. Lovely poem. About true altruism. I also enjoy how you keep all your lines the same length. It mustn’t be easy to do that. I tried it but failed miserably.

  2. A beautiful write, Grace, full of love and emotion. Loved the picture too. A good post 👍💖
