Phrase

A single phrase
can grasp a heart,
tie a tight knot
that never parts.

A little phrase,
can change strong views,
obstruct visions
that were once true.

A whispered phrase
can linger on,
far past the time
when it is gone.

A simple phrase
can be complex,
introducing
what will come next.

A tiny phrase
can carry facts,
that influence
infinite acts.

A thoughtless phrase
can affect lives,
embrace bright words
so others thrive.

  1. This one. Yes. Right where it needs to hit over here. I think the fever rises in me and I say things…without thinking. I can be cold. Now for the poem that explains how to keep that voice from rising out.

    1. Thanks so much, K. I can totally relate to you. I am super blunt and at times my honesty could be taken the wrong way. It’s been a struggle to stop and think of the affects that my words can have, but I am still working on it and can honestly say that it has gotten much better.πŸ’•

      1. πŸ’œI’ve definitely made huge strides with my anger, but I think I have a king way to go with bluntness. It’s very reassuring to hear you’ve made steps. Helps me stay in the journey as well. Thank you. πŸ’œ

  2. So true, Grace, words are precious and powerful. One should use them very cautiously. Well penned πŸ‘πŸ’–

  3. Wow Grace! I absolutely love this piece. So unique and so exquisitely thought out. Every line intertwines with one another which makes such a gorgeous flow πŸ€πŸ€—
