Persistence (Published at Spillwords)

Regret can choke
till hopes are dead.
Ego will poke
in doubtful heads.

Tears cloud clear eyes,
fill steps with dread,
absorb faith dry,
so fears can spread.

Take a deep breath
attempt to try,
going the length
helps wishes fly.

Drown out distress,
fling goals up high.
Embrace success,
intents comply.

Do not let fright
hold good dreams back.
Narrow down sights,
remain on track.

Grasp inner light
defend attacks.
Hearts shine so bright
erasing lack.

💕 UPDATE 💕

Hello my friends. Hope you are all doing well. I thought I would take a moment to update you on what’s been going on in my world. As most of you know, I took a hiatus from WP to work on a personal project. This project took much longer than I had anticipated, but it was completed by mid September (Just in time for my Birthday / Anniversary). I was SUPER excited to come back to my normal life with WP, unfortunately hurricane Helene had other plans for us. Hurricane Helene devastated WNC, thankfully there was only minor damage to our property, though we were trapped at home without electricity, internet, or water for about 5 days ( Talk about a memorable Birthday / Anniversary ). I am happy to say that the WNC community has made a speedy recovery though many people are still negatively affected as a result of Helene. I have also seen so many people pull together for a positive outcome. After so much work, I have decided to take the rest of December off and rejoin my WP family the first week of January. Happy Holidays and all the best to you all!!!! Miss you so very much!!! 💕

I leave you now with my most recent Spillwords publication. Thank you so much to Dagmara K., and the whole team at Spillwords for publishing this poem, and for all of their continued support. I would be so very grateful if you would go here, and like/comment as well. Thank you! 💕
