Overpass

Gone too long, back home at last,
journey reconciles the past,
memories, brought back great smiles,
fuchsia skies follow for miles.

Pathways transform into slides,
brightly colored magic rides,
cross the bridge, tears left behind,
lessons learned wrapped in deep pride.

Old wounds transform into stars,
shine above erase all scars,
ugly times swiftly buried,
rosy sun rays chase worries.

Suddenly life feels so well,
create tales others can tell.
close both eyes, absorb glories,
open them, write new stories.

Insight blooms visions are clean,
heart consumes this gorgeous scene,
inhale this magenta view,
fully rise, strong and renewed.

  1. I really like the line Suzette mentioned, and these too: “close both eyes, absorb glories,
    open them, write new stories.”
Thank you for writing for the prompt!🤗

  2. Lovely analogy and imagery, Grace! Old wounds transform into stars.. well said, my friend! An inspiring poem 💐💕
