Misunderstood

Sorrowful crow,
time does not slow,
negative goes,
where your flight flows,
as cold as snow,
on naked toes,
fears seems to grow
where deep caws blow.

Unique sounds blow,
positive grows,
from head to toe,
as cool as snow,
luck always flows,
great wisdom goes,
peacefully slow,
beautiful crow.

      1. We used to have a family of Hawks return for about six years but not now. A family of Kites have moved in but I don’t see them as often. I miss my hawks. 🙂

  1. Fine work, Grace, about the miscreant and misunderstood crow. I find these lines especially delightful: “as cold as snow,/on naked toes, . . .” I looked at Melissa’s prompt and thought I wouldn’t have come up with anything, but then things formed if rather simply. Borrowing the form of haiku:

    Trickster Tricked

    Hey, I’m alone here!
Last night, they said go this way.
    Who are those white birds?

  2. Your poem “Misunderstood” resonated deeply with me. The raw emotion and vivid imagery you used to depict the complexities of feeling misunderstood truly captured the essence of human vulnerability. The way you articulated the struggle of being seen yet not truly known is both powerful and poignant. Thank you for sharing such an intimate piece of your soul.

  3. The crow is a scavenger bird, it seeks to find, in what others have discarded. We all should look to crows for wisdom of kindness towards society’s cast off people.
