So rare to find the color blue,
in nature, below skies.
Deep waters carry aqua hues,
bright sea green tints swim high.
I ran into a blue mushroom,
during my morning walk,
amazement caused my eyes to zoom,
beauty from cap to stalk.
Quickly snapped pictures from afar,
excited head to heel.
Suddenly noticed reddish scars,
then knew these were not real.
Chuckled inside, tilted my head,
huge caps were much too round,
although my hopes had fallen dead,
inspiration was found.
