Enough

She takes your lies,
gulps them like wine,
laughs till she cries,
drawing the line.

She knows you well,
words turn to dust,
love tripped and fell,
into disgust.

She visits you,
within her head,
dreams that came true,
are now all dead.

She tries to smile,
while hurt inside,
thoughts run hostile,
heart conquers mind.

She walks away,
opposite path,
silently prays,
time cures scorned wraths.

She turns around,
just one last time,
nothing is found,
fate feels sublime.

  1. This is awesome Grace! We give it all we have as woman and then we turn away and never look back. Profound write my friend! πŸ’–
My favorite line is “Next” πŸ˜‚πŸ’–

  2. That’s the beauty of a woman, and truth too. Well portrayed, Grace πŸ˜ŠπŸ’πŸ’–

  3. Such profound lines…only Grace can write…coz the grace she did find…with the blaze in her eyes…truly divine πŸ’«β€οΈβœ¨

  4. There’s a lot of depth and intensity here–such painful emotions–but that last stanza is beautiful and a wonderful denouement to her personal story. It’s sad anyone has to experience this sort of thing, but what a sense of rebirth and renewal when it’s all over and the sun shines again… Well done, Grace. πŸ™‚

  5. A powerful piece, Grace! Sometimes walking away is the bravest decision to make.
And this poem actually reminds me of a song by Taylor Swift called β€˜it’s time to go’ , which somewhat mirrors the same message.

  6. Beautifully penned….we all have that determination within us to say enough is enough and walk away. We just need to listen to our instincts and take action. πŸ’ŸπŸ’Ÿ
