Brainstorm

A lonely page in need of ink,
words start to form within a blink.
Blank paper fills with my hearts tune,
author unknown but clear and true.

Organize thoughts, emotions bloom,
let memories fall and erase gloom.
Feel so relieved but search for more,
imagination opens doors.

Grasp images of mute stories,
that carry pain mixed with glories.
A silent tale presently seen,
everyday life, a movie screen.

Open both eyes then look around,
vibrations match as my pulse pounds.
Pictures move fast, my mind keeps up,
the coffee stands cold in a cup.

  1. Such a gentle power and beauty in this poem, Grace. The opening stanza is superb, loved it 💐💖

  2. “A lonely page in need of ink,
words start to form within a blink.” that’s impressive.
Really love those moments when the right words easily appear and you write smoothly; a lot of times it’d take hours for me to form a single verse. 😅
    Inspiring poem, Grace 💙💙

  3. I can certainly identify with those last two lines (even though I’m not a coffee drinker). When I get caught up in writing (or any creative endeavor), time slows to a stop and hours will pass by unnoticed. The Zone is a magical place to be, a place of intense concentration and focus, streaming images and well oiled memories which provide fertile loam for stories and poetry to germinate. 🙂
