Christmas Thought

Melancholic thoughts fill Christmas,
each and every passing year.
Carols play in every business,
attempting to provoke cheers.

Part of me feels so excited,
witnessing the twinkling lights,
other pieces feel divided,
witnessing greed in plain sight.

Search inside to find the answers
that can ease this holiday,
see all smiles as true enhancers,
maybe this could make joys stay.

In a world with so much ugly,
try to enjoy this one day.
Cozy up, peaceful and snugly,
celebrate in my own way.

  2. Oh…this one is beautifully written. The theme is most definitely spot-on, and the format and flow…so liquid and soothing. You’re a rare talent, Grace, and I mean that sincerely. I really like this one. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I love this poem, Grace! I, too, feel like this around major holidays. The world is a weird and shallow place. We have to find joy in ourselves to see how much more there is to anything than what the world wants us to see. I hope you had a wonderful time, and got a chance to rest and relax.๐Ÿ˜Šโค
