Round glasses catch the morning light,
her smile is wide, her eyes are bright.
A young girl peeks above a rail,
her floppy hat holds thoughts that sail.
She grins a wide and sunlit beam,
like someone stepping through a dream.
Childhood haven, so still, so sweet,
where flowers bloom beneath her feet.
Great student, fresh from books and class,
now stands upon her grandma’s grass.
suddenly free from books and test,
vacations where her heart can rest.
She sees a windmill, calm and tall,
It turns beyond the garden wall.
A field of tulips, red and gold,
stretches far, both brave and bold.
Wind turbine turns so gracefully,
strong breezes sways flowery sea.
Behind it all, the yellow haze,
blows gently through the sunlit day.
The dust may dance, the sky may blur,
but joy still rises strong in her.
nothing at all can dim her joy,
her heart feels peace no smog can cloy.

It is a warm poem, full of luminous and rhythmic images, that captures the essence of childlike optimism, where even in the midst of the everyday or imperfect, hope flourishes. It is a hymn to the ability to see the world with light, to live the present fully, and to find beauty in simple things.

Which is actually better? Optimism or realism? I’d say it would depend on the situation, optimism is good for pushing through hard times 💪, realism is good for a quick reality check of the situation ✔️
