Ran fast outside, skinned hands and knees,
inwardly cried, pain flew with ease.
Painted a smile, grabbed something sweet,
sat for a while, enjoyed my treat.
An icicle eased away pain,
reminded me of simple gains.
The playful times that could not stay,
within a blink, just flew away.
This frozen pop, served as a cure,
made my heart hop, felt immature.
It brought me back to my childhood,
when hard times slipped to preserve good.
A moment to enjoy the rain,
erased adulting from my brain.
It made me dance, I laughed and swayed,
enjoyed hopscotch, felt joy cascade.
Happiness spread, peace well obtained,
all hurt soon fled, while joy maintained.
Inner love stung, felt so secure,
forever young and self assured.
That fall became an even trade,
granted me a mental parade.
the discomfort was worth the strain,
powerful emotions remained.
