Inner Work

Complete acceptance is
a tough pill to swallow,
but once it is taken
it helps dissolve sorrows.

To truly surrender
is a difficult deed,
letting go of control
watering planted seeds.

A secured self-esteem
is a slippery slope,
to balance the ego
provides inner hope.

The fruits from all labor
presents life with awards,
Self-work and improvements
offer greater rewards.

Outer viewed projections,
emerge from deep within.
Reflected perceived views,
can shed light on false wins.

Looking into the mind
could empower all dreams,
acknowledge self power
let it flow like a stream.

Mislead

Seductive words,
consume my skin,
graceful like birds,
to cover sins.

Rips me in half,
flirtatious war,
invokes my laugh,
ego keeps score.

Deep thoughtless sigh,
exposes soul,
keep my head high,
game of control.

A stare so still,
it keeps you stuck,
kidnaps free will,
grants me good luck.

Deceptive ways,
hide on your face.
I look away,
to win first place.

Set myself free,
regain my spot.
You try to flee,
I tie your knots.

Effortless Attempt

No one gains in standing by,
make a dent or simply try.
Pollution is ever high,
listen to nature’s loud cries.

Try to find a better way,
do my part to cause a sway.
Bicycle on this bright day,
flow through traffic, no delay.

Try to conquer this rat race,
do my part to change this place.
Exercise in perfect pace,
feel warm breeze caress my face.

Try to stand out from the fleet,
do my part to not deplete.
Zone out on these busy streets,
contribute to feel complete.

Try to let go and release,
do my part, help blight decrease.
Negative gives way to peace,
hopeful views swiftly increase.

One attempt quickly expands,
and helps others understand,
that this planet will withstand,
if we find a way to band.

Barbie

Mold her like a plastic doll,
no emotions to involve.
Buckle shoes then dress her up,
never fill her empty cup.

She will listen to demands,
bends swiftly to all commands,
no clear views shine from her eyes,
watch strange self esteems fly high.

Satisfies their wants and needs,
always follow as they lead.
Selfish ways arrogant acts,
blind eyes to all foreseen facts.

Plastic feelings soon dictate,
numbness festers into hate,
see pure trust disintegrate,
pretend smiles make it all great.

Accept both the heart and mind,
each toy is “one of a kind”,
shapable for every view,
walk through life without a clue.

Watch her eyes reflect her soul,
regains power, gains control.
Pull the anchor, sails her boat,
let it go, so true self floats.

Fall and Rise

Simply unique, hard to explain,
bites her lips hard to feel the pain.
Swallows lost words she wants to say,
her thoughts run wild in distinct ways.

Wears a fake smile, like many do,
yet her heart always remains true.
Performs her part, forces a laugh,
keeps her eyes focused on her path.

They see her fall, she has breakdowns,
then stands up proud, to face the crowd.
She has a flair, inwardly twirls,
while being seen as a plain girl.

Her deep cuts bleed like everyone,
plants blissful seeds til hurts gone.
After she leaves her essence stays,
beautiful soul brightens each day.

Rebuilt

Broken sadness
a jagged pill.
Inner madness
stumbles then spills.

Numb inner pain,
hammers her chest.
Thrown in the rain,
grateful for rest.

Empty dark whole,
lays at her core.
Without control,
or need for more.

Strong plastic parts,
well-disguised ploy.
No mind or heart,
cold broken toy.

Her younger self,
handled with care.
Longs for a shelf,
to sit and stare.

Infinite smiles,
plastered to stay,
non versatile,
hope grows each day.

In Between

Crawled so slow, yet happened fast,
ever present, endless past,
same place in another time,
wide dimensions, mirrors chime.

Dull echoes sing soft lyrics,
aimlessly defy physics.
Light and dark dance into gray,
whisper lessons as they play.

Fears appear to transfix most,
entities peacefully coast.
Shadowed visions bring a scare,
to those that walk unaware.

Eyes believe that they see ghosts,
energies are pleased to host,
watch from a higher plateau,
feel stares from so long ago.

Mysteries unravel quick,
knowledge makes the air flow thick,
beings in a different space,
intertwine and interlace.

Snap back to reality,
analyse mortality.
Enthralled by this piece of art,
with no end and no known start.

Senioritis

So bored within a scheduled life,
full dullness penetrates her eyes.
Stagnancy keeps thrills in a cage,
simmers slowly to fuel up rage.

Another day, another class,
stare at the clock, watch seconds pass.
So tired with words teachers say,
detest their lectures everyday.

Another seat, another rule,
stare into space an aimless fool.
Only escape, a window view,
that hold the key to what is true.

Another quiz, another test,
a different night filled with unrest.
Anxiety knocks on her door,
ambitions never meet the score.

Another thought, another hope,
a change of pace to help her cope.
Future so bright, lights up her mind,
a new outlook, one of a kind.

Sweet daydreams show how time will be,
positive angles set her free.
A hidden smile exposes joy,
learns happiness is her own choice.

Television Date

Quick take out sushi and T.V.,
my favorite date, alone with me.
binge worthy show sets the night free,
entertains while letting me be.

Wonderful place to end this day,
imagined stories lead the way,
the perfect plan to feel okay,
mesmerized by lines actors say.

To let go of reality,
embraces true neutrality,
enhances my normality,
increases great vitality.

Look forward to this time next week,
unravel cliffhanger mystique,
gain all the answers that I seek,
await previews to gain a peek.

Bake Sale

Beautiful day,
money to make.
Cold lemonade,
fun treats to bake.

Sisters appear,
with helpful hands.
Instant career,
refreshment stand.

Negotiate,
healthy debate.
Depreciate,
their going rate.

Barter to pay,
with a cup cake.
they frown and say,
“For goodness sakes.”

Sweet and yummy,
hard to resist,
happy tummy’s
quickly enlist.

Guilt creeps inside,
sweeps through the air,
Choose to divide,
so all is fair.

Successful day,
count out the cash.
Split wealth three ways,
give them their stash.

Together plan,
next years menu.
Our solid clan,
perfect venue.
