Grab a chair,
let’s have a talk,
confront my ego
one on one.

It grabs a smoke
asks for a drink,
then stared at me
eyes did not blink.

I looked right back
straight in the eye,
then smiled so bright
disarmed all fights.

“What do you want?”
Ego’s first words,
so strong and bold
self held control.

I said with ease,
“Let’s call a truce,
let’s work as one,
share balanced views.
I know you’re scared
way deep inside,
both fear and grief
make self-doubt hide.
You protect me,
supply my pride,
yet I’m your key
and purest guide.”

Ego replies,
so slick and sly,
” You’re my ally,
do not judge me,
within my eyes
lives all you see.
You’re in my chest,
speaking my truth,
giving me rest,
easing my blues.
You’re in my smile
and in my charm,
you give me warmth
keep me from harm.”

A blurry mirror
then showed me,
the ego side
I failed to see.

To accept it
set us both free,
to love ourselves
through all degrees.

United to find harmony
and figure out how to agree.
We slowly built camaraderie
resolving conflicts peacefully.

Knowing our capabilities,
we partnered up infinitely.

Loving ourselves entirely,
helps us spread more love outwardly.

Dark grey skies are expected,
scattered tears fill up the day,
deep unease is projected,
sense deep peace may lead the way.

Search inside,
then decide,
inner guide,
or cold pride.

Overcast swiftly passes,
drags along brisk doubtful thoughts.
Calmness drizzles, love splashes,
dappled sun rays offer support.

Swiftly heal
how heart feels,
ego peels,
light reveals.

Puffy clouds carry raindrops,
to expose bright rainbow hues,
hydrate worn dry thirsty crops,
that provide hopes to pursue.

Erase lines,
dreams combine,
let soul shine,
feel divine.

Nature rings with loud thunder,
emotions vibrate inside.
Eyes quickly fill with wonder,
as outside clear visions shine.

Profound clues,
sprinkle truths,
minds will choose,
outer views.

Moonwashed Weekly Challenge – November 15, 2022
Prompt – Dappled

Do it!

Staring straight,
no looking back,
freezing time,
from past attacks.

Blinders on,
quick side-eye glance,
focused views,
lead to life’s dance.

Breeze above,
Makes pure love,

Pink intent,
outgrows the mold.
Embraced goals,
will turn to gold,

Grab a dream,
do not distract,
make it big,
with huge impacts.

Fluttered wish,
should reach the sky.
Unframed hopes,
learn how to fly.

Take a chance,
lead with self-care.
Stalled to wait,
until hearts dare.

I am not angel, but still try,
throughout bright days and gloomy nights.
If this world is all my eyes see,
then it was painted just for me.

Spray my words with gold dusty light,
understood through sound and insight.
Emotions sing whimsical tones,
so lucky ears can be atoned.

Miracles grow on solid ground,
all unknown answers swiftly found.
Every soul captures simple truths,
without the need for any proof.

Each new day is wrapped in pure joy,
adventures come with a flipped coin.
Pray perceptions keep this fresh view,
so my heart loves the life it drew.

Response to Sadje’s picture prompt on What do you see #160 November 14,2022

On my way to a fun night,
car breaks down, an unknown site,
glimpse up at the dim moonlight,
heartbeat marches to pure fright.

Blood pressure does jumping jacks,
views that surround are pitch black,
equilibrium, out of wack,
hear my own inner voice crack.

Goosebumps come out for a peek,
cold sweat does not drip, it leaks,
both knees buckle, head feels weak,
strong paralysis feels bleak.

Both palms become water streams,
step from the car, hear loud screams.
Gasp for air but inhale steam,
pull myself out from this dream.

Open eyes then gasp for air,
chills raise follicles of hair,
pant away all tense despair,
go to sleep without a care.

I never told you what I thought,
swallowed concrete words wisdom taught.
Layers of bricks created walls,
that made my self esteem shrink small.

You never knew how hard I fought,
the somber pain your actions brought.
Sharp looks that made my insides crawl,
loud lingered laughter chased my falls.

Got tired of feeling distraught,
pushed away all the fears I caught.
Inflictions bounced off like a ball,
stopped running to your every call.

Searched deep within, found true support,
an inner love became my fort.
Self care and strength helped me stand tall,
found confidence so light can sprawl.

Guides me to heaven,
dances in my head,
eleven eleven,
again and again.

With every question,
riddles unravel,
eleven eleven,
pursues my travels.

Feel a deep message,
with every receipt,
eleven eleven,
runs wild in my dreams.

Day or night lessons,
whatever the time,
eleven eleven,
there for me to find.

Highlights direction,
to all that I see,
eleven eleven,
means so much to me.

Offers progression,
message held inside,
eleven eleven,
prompts sent from my guides.

Hidden Intentions

I wrapped the wool over my eyes,
afraid to see you had two sides.
Showed loyalty to tame my fears,
cried sensitive crocodile tears.

One part of you admired me,
the other part, a silent bee
that stings without a buzz or hiss,
portraying love, poisonous kiss.

Presenting trust, so I could share,
my hardest truths and dark despair
A fake friendship, one of a kind,
so true for me, but I was blind.

Still grateful for the times gone by,
when I was fooled by your disguise.
You filled a role I needed then,
pretend feels good until it ends.

Magnetic strong words,
attached to my mind,
attracting concerns,
no longer confined.

I turn them around,
but they just repel,
surround and compound,
disarming my shell.

Magnetic sources,
with intentions said,
unbalanced forces,
bounce upon my head.

Replays the lyrics,
that form with each word,
unstable spirits,
smug ego transferred.

Magnetic sharp tunes,
all come to a halt,
clear off my scarred wounds,
removes grains of salt.

Embraces and shields,
directionless souls,
visions cleared and healed,
to regain control.

Moonwashed Weekly Challenge – November 08, 2022
Prompt – Directionless

Reflections shown, while casting stones,
judgments are thrown, yours hide alone.
Unseen disguise, eyes in a veil,
swallow bad deeds, sighs are exhaled.

Looking outside, escape within,
choose not to see, deep-rooted sins.
Secure the cage, well kept inside,
hidden secrets, no one can find.

All concealed guilts, the heart knows well,
let the stones lay, where they once fell.
Absolve regrets, love and accept,
so conversations can connect.

Give empathy a love filled space,
real understanding is embraced.
Pure clarity helps souls unite,
perceptions fall with true insight.
