Silenced

A covered mouth
carries closed eyes,
so no one sees
the knots inside.

Her suppressed views
lay to reside,
constantly judged
opt to just hide.

A silenced tongue
helps keep her safe,
afraid to fall
or make mistakes.

Anything said
may cause offense.
Wears a thick skin
to shield defense.

Watches each word,
cancels her views.
Trying so hard
to still be true.

Most will demand
her honesty,
but crave her thoughts
always agree.

So she decides
to be herself,
by breaking free
of her hard shell.

To socialize
still being her,
showing the world
truths she offers
.

Reflective smiles
mirror her heart,
she is unique
a work of art.

Each step she takes
is filled with light.
Self-acceptance,
lets her shine bright.

Inner love

A lonely dove
looking for love,
took a short break
for her own sake
.

She looked inside
and found some pride,
feeling a shove
she flew above.

She felt awake
finding a lake,
her wings were wide,
oh, what a ride!

She saw her form
and felt so warm,
her glide was fast
in love at last.

Attention came,
found her twin flame,
flew by her side
their hearts now tied.

She did not ask
but found her task,
true love within
always brings wins
.

Gift

Pretty pebble
thrown in the air,
left all alone
nobody cared.
Carried powers
way deep inside.
Unseen by all
but the wise eye
.

Young girl in search
for some control,
all by herself
taking a stroll.
Aims to fulfill,
numbed voided spots,
that broke apart
within her heart.

Finds slightest shine,
within a rock,
for the first time
feeling a spark.
Keeping it safe
deep in her pocket,
the perfect link,
for her prized locket.

Instantly clears,
all of her fears.
All sadness steers,
when it is near.
Every old tear,
transform to cheers.
Glad it appeared,
she holds it dear.

Pretty pebble,
felt loved at last.
Never ignored,
like in the past.
All special gifts
can now be shared,
emitting love,
deleting despair
.

Finding her way,
warmed by sun rays.
Embracing days,
from where she lays.
Feeling amazed,
empathy raised.
Rewards that pay
are vowed to stay.

Graceful pebble.
Secure young girl.
Gifts to this world,
like a fine pearl
.
Connected fast
attached they curled.
Enjoyed their dance
united twirl.

Grandma’s Kitchen

So very far away,
stood a rustic old cafe,
essence made up of fine silk,
felt like warm cookies and milk.

Tables all covered in lace
filling up this fun-filled place,
people gathered up in crowds,
telling jokes and laughing loud.

Magic dust swept through the air,
lifting all unwanted cares,
every lost was at last found,
happiness flew all around.

Good times never seemed to cease,
spreading a love-filled disease.
while confessions snuggled safe
sheltered in this worn cafe.

Many spent wonderful years
leaving no sins left to clear,
carried this favorite spot
as a dot within their heart.

Happy thoughts forever near,
safety shield from any fear.
Memories that act as guides,
lock them up way deep inside.

Improve

A highbrowed turtle,
nuzzled in a tough shell,
emotions once slipped,
but never quite fell.
Smartypants turtle
has nothing to learn,
frowning at others
with her nose upturned.
Experienced a life
of entitled paved ways,
humility ran with
no reason to stay.

One day met her match,
but could not believe,
dung beetle so strong,
was turtle deceived?
So full of powers,
unpleasant to see,
with the simplest form
complex underneath.
She hid in her home,
could not understand,
her eyes were quite wise
no room to expand.

How could this creature
that only ate waste,
have so many skills
and very fine taste?
Confusion set in
trying to engage,
greeting the beetle,
but feeling quite strange.
An intimidation
gave the turtle a tug,
as fear of rejection,
made her scared to be snubbed.

These new emotions
taught turtle how it felt,
from the receiving end
of cards, she once dealt.
Curious to know
what the beetle possessed,
she approached her quickly,
and story expressed.
Dung beetle was kind
sharing all her gifts,
teaching the turtle,
to touch and uplift.
