Sweet Getaway

We visit where silence takes notes,
as lakes and mountains gently float,
a mirrored stillness, hushes skies,
branches above cause winds to sigh.

Someday, we’ll trade the city’s beat
for softer steps, grass on our feet,
a place where soul and nature meet,
as time slows down, each breath tastes sweet.

Clusters of houses by the shore,
with weathered wood, inviting doors.
One holds a turbine in its heart,
its gentle hum of rustic art.

Mountains stand high, still as a stone,
unmoving, yet never alone.
Peaks catch bright light, feel so alive,
teach how to rest, not just survive.

The leaves reach down dappled with grace,
to frame the lake, calm, endless space,
green and gold flicker with the breeze,
whisper sweet things, spirit at ease.

Peaceful at rest, nowhere to be,
drift with the clouds and dancing trees,
a brief escape, yet somehow planned,
held in this water colored land.

Deep Within

Proudly and tall, the blood moon shows,
warm dusky rose, the night bestows.
Sweet copper face, peacefully slow,
wears just a crown glistened by snow.

Time paints the sky, just past midnight,
a silver glow offers insight.
Soft single flame, so small, yet bright,
clings gently to the lunar light.

Old lantern rests on grassy ground,
its quiet gleam, the only sound.
Two distinct shines suddenly bound,
great mystery, no answers found.

Who left it there? Which tale will fly?
traveler lost? pre-planned surprise?
Natural wonder? kind and wise,
gift of delight where stillness lies.

Deeply inhale, hearts and minds spin,
euphoric hues, expand within,
painful bruises depart from chins,
through darkest times, prepare to win.

Dim shadowed sparkles heal deep scars,
soft candle flame, strong eclipsed star.
One guides the path from a worn jar,
the other bleeds both near and far.

This weeks prompt offered two picture options. This poem was inspired by both pictures. 💕

Picnic Time

Barbie’s blanket, calm and still,
flips magazine, day dreams fill.
Lost in a world, wonders seen,
peaceful vibes feels so serene.

Ken stands nearby, smiles so bright,
McDonald’s bag , brings delight.
Warm scented fries fill the air,
plastic thoughts drift without care.

Pizza box, opened half wide,
cheesy goodness, yummy ride.
Lush lawn stretches, vibrantly green,
highlight this beautiful scene.

Symphonies whisper through leaves,
dancing trees sway with the breeze.
Bask in sun with skies so blue,
picnic in a world so true.

Take a Break

Tall tree so vast, it hugs the sky,
with branches that stretch low and high,
like arms that reach a higher place,
to touch the clouds then slow their pace.

Up high, a boy finds rest and peace,
a comfy branch offers release.
Strong trunk beneath, so firm and grand,
supports him high above the land.

Its roots a story, deep and old,
whispers the secrets nature holds.
In every curve, a silent song,
of time that moves, each day along.

Young man lies still, where daylight falls,
with dancing leaves great wisdom sprawls,
as his mind rests his spirit leaps,
above the world, half way to sleep.

Eyes semi-closed, he dreams away,
lush forrest hums as hours’ sway,
although the man is far from ground,
he feels pure love deeply profound.

Beautiful fortress made of wood,
where jaded souls capture their good,
a place where earth and sky entwine,
and life slows down, simply divine.

Living Statue

Dear figurine, always bright,
sits on rails, absorbs day light.
Eyes of stone, beam far away,
blankly stares, thoughts seem to stray.

Mustache and beard, set with grace,
face is carved from time’s embrace.
Curls of hair take a proud stand,
caught in winds from distant lands.

Bridges sway, world spins along,
silence stands where dreams belong.
Inner clocks always recall,
memories that swiftly fall.

Knowledge in his wistful gaze,
hears stories that pass each day.
Motionless he leads life’s race,
endless moments, don’t erase.

Cherry Blossom Path

Under the sky, so soft and blue,
numbers of cherry blossoms grew,
their petals danced in gentle air,
grace interlaced beyond compare.

Each branch, a stroke of pink and white,
faintly glistens with hues of light,
reflections of the world they wore,
upon the waters’ silver floor.

Sweet beauty gently kissed by day,
elegant trees perfectly sway,
a magical, deep dream was spun,
upside-down life, mirrors the sun.

Blush petals fall in fresh descent,
rose colored visions, heaven-sent,
distinct clear views for eyes to see,
ripples replay with the warm breeze.

Morning Bond

Sweet baby held in his hands,
deep felt joy hearts understand.
Arms outstretched, gentle embrace,
giggles plaster smiles with grace.

Sea below hums lullabies,
golden hues paint the vast sky.
sunlit rays dance, clouds part wide,
vows of hope with rising tide.

Tiny arms reach for the sun,
touch the dawn, day has begun.
Pure love, ample as the sea,
soothes the world, forever free.

Embraced by the warmth of light,
connection shines ever bright,
Morning sparkles hope anew,
infinite bond always true.

Needed Rest

The moon lit night sky gently glows,
she sleeps where wild winds softly blow,
among the stones fantasies leap,
her body cradled in deep sleep.

Thick jagged rocks form a firm bed,
earth’s pillow holds her heavy head.
Deep dreams run lost through time and space,
reverie caught an endless place.

Within the rocks, there lies no strife,
but in it’s place lives endless life.
As soon as dawn begins to rise,
she wakes to hear soft inner cries.

Ancestors whisper ancient songs,
she slumbers where cold stones belong.
Woman in stone, peacefully still,
forever bound to nature’s will.

Chewy Toy

Right from the start,
grasp every heart,
make them all pound,
love spreads around.

To relieve gums,
suck yummy thumb,
eat what is near,
even through tears.

Soft toothless smile,
sweetest warm style,
made each day bright,
heavenly sight.

Hurts pacify,
clears painful cries,
rubber soother,
makes life smoother.

In the Moment

Magical stories dance all night,
infinite tales highlight the sky,
beautiful stars twinkle so bright,
inspire dreams so hopes can fly.

Book pages float, through in-betweens,
sprinkle sweet wishes, to turn keys,
powerful thoughts, can go unseen,
mystical hues flow ever free.

Pages create, firmer new steps,
which guide the way, to what comes next,
all past days clear, finally swept,
rainbows appear, so joy could flex.

Some chapters end, others arrive,
tears pour like rain, until smiles shine.
Pure fantasies, become alive,
so peacefully, truly divine.
