A Giving Soul

Thanks for giving sound advice,
which I ignored, then paid the price.
Thanks for always being nice,
to see past lies, my mind devised.

My faulty ways, you overlooked,
you gave pure love, as I threw hooks.
Your pure affection left me shook,
you dusted off, the plots I cooked.

Thanks for opening my eyes,
holding my hand, easing my cries.
Thanks for giving without ties,
while pushing me, so I could fly.

Intentions that I once mistook,
are lessons that now write my book.
Connections built between two rooks,
in grateful hearts, create a nook.
