It is easy to love someone seen as good,
always understood,
one shared neighborhood.
Not so simple for those perceived as bad,
hard to understand,
all alone they must stand.
Try to find a way to walk in their shoes,
breaking old abuse,
providing new views.
What if life was changed? What if they were you?
wishing help came through,
not knowing from who.
Standing within light surrounded by dark,
recognizing sparks,
being kind leaves marks.
Traced smile on their face, throw some joy their way,
watching as fears sway,
flying far away.
Anger soon subsides as pure hearts now guide,
love will challenge pride,
clearing paths once tried.
Forgiveness leads fate, release worn mistakes,
new days can create,
kindness can cure hate.
