Honesty

Bloody words
escape my lips,
fly like birds
that fall and slip,
look absurd
but slowly trip
visions blurred,
until they flip.

Bled out sounds
possessed my tongue,
left my mouth,
fled from my lungs,
tilted ground,
vibrations rung,
sadness found
where all begun.

Bleeding tunes
ring in my ears,
my head swoons
expunging fears,
hope balloons
releasing tears,
heart cocoons
yet, feels so clear.

Blood filled songs,
finally healed,
curing wrongs,
dropping the shield,
thoughts prolonged
but now revealed,
truth belongs
to what feels real.

  1. Wow wow wow, dear Grace…this is just perfection!!! I love how each stanza started with a blood reference, it’s so deeply powerful and at the same time soothing. What amazing writing, I’m honestly (😉) not surprised at this point!!! Keep being amazingly YOU and spreading your beautiful light 💫✨🤗🖤

  2. Simply beautiful! Your thoughts are so soothing, though it started with bloody. Thank you, Grace for sharing such a startling piece😊🎉

  3. I just read your poem. I love how your words painted such a raw picture and I felt the emotion behind it or the feeling associated with it. It was like an art piece to me. I write poems too. I would love for you to check it out please. I think it is great to find other writers because there is an understanding of why we share our works our hearts through the art of words.
