For Giving Grace

Eighteen candles burn so high,
count the smiles years left behind.
Reminisce on how time flies,
connect scenes that tie and bind.

Baby girl, no hair, big bow,
lost her breath and rocked my world.
Toothless laugh, made my heart glow,
fully healed, wore pretty curls.

In her eyes lived each sunrise,
gave me strength, will to survive.
Filled my life with sheer surprise,
every day pushed me to strive.

New beginnings never end,
teen years came to condescend,
battles faded, like old trends,
young adult, daughter, now friend.

As the years keep passing by,
I fill up with immense pride.
Aware she can touch the sky,
her light extends ever wide.

Thankful for love so divine,
her presence is ever bright.
Birthday wishes beam and shine,
future sparkles with delight.
