Deserted

A promise to stay,
forces actions to sway.
False hopes still remain,
tender hearted from pain.

To walk all alone,
heavy feet feel like stones.
Memories hold time,
dance to silent wind chimes.

Live life nonchalant,
gain all needs but no wants.
Difficult to know,
all the power thoughts own.

Regrets drive minds mad,
guilts lament what hands had.
Ego pushes starts,
true love never departs.

Learn how to accept,
allow soul to connect.
Pure smiles light days up,
to fill all empty cups.

Bittersweet farewell,
no more reasons to dwell.
Blink away old views,
essence forever true.

That’s the essence of life. Love this. So glad to reconnect with your blog after WordPress apparently unfollowed you for me!😠

Thank you for writing this week!❤️

  2. Great take on the prompt.

-powerful verse on accepting what is as best one can, there is freedom in that indeed. Wonderful poetry, Grace. Kudos!
