Infinite Dad

Protective teacher, greatest friend,
infinite bond without an end.
Before each fall your hand extends.
My wrongs and rights you would defend.

With just one look, into my eyes,
you knew all truths I tried to hide.
Always candid, laughed at my lies,
so many fights that made you sigh.

A mix of strength and affection
taught me great faith with direction.
You made life safe, gave protection,
an ultimate silent connection.

Your heart my home with open doors,
festive embrace that I adored,
sincerest love felt at my core,
stories you told made me want more.

Walked by my side showed me you cared,
gave me advice, wisdom you shared,
ignited light made sure I dared,
then you were gone, I felt so scared.

Now you are free from any pain,
I celebrate memories gained,
your body is gone, essence remains,
nothing can break our strong linked chain.

  3. Such a beautiful tribute to your father, Grace. I’m so sorry for your loss. I feel your pain- my dad passed away of Leukemia in 2005 and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t think of him. <3
